Our school opened in 2013 with 67 children aged 4 – 7 years old. For the first time receiving
an education and the chance for a future.
In 2014 with generous support from customers and suppliers we dug a well and installed a solar
powered pump to provide fresh, clean water.
2015 saw us raising funds to build a wall around the school yard to keep the children safe and
keep animals out ! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the project – WE DID IT!
We cut the ribbon to the new school gates when we visited in January. The school now has a
great area for the children to play safely in and the ladies of the village have cultivated
an area to provide fruit, vegetables and salad for the children.
Since 2014 we have had 24 children reaching the standard where they could graduate to the next
school. We set about getting individual sponsors for each of them so they could continue
their education which we are also proud to have achieved. We are now looking for sponsors
for our 2016 graduates.
Our project needs ongoing support and there are a number of ways you can help so please
take a few minutes to look at how. Every penny goes to the school and the children and
every penny counts.
Thank you from Lisa, Derick and all the Children of Kafuta Tumbung
